What Hill County Booking Records Contain

When someone is arrested and booked into the Hill County Jail, a booking record is created and becomes public under Texas law. Hill County booking releases typically include the full name, date of birth, physical description, charges, bond amount, arresting agency, and intake date and time. Release date is added once the person is no longer in custody.

Some records are exempt from disclosure. Active investigation files, juvenile records, medical records, and child abuse case files are generally withheld. If the Sheriff's Office determines any part of your request falls under an exemption, they may seek guidance from the Texas Attorney General before making a final decision.

A booking record does not indicate guilt. It reflects only that the person was arrested and processed into the Hill County Jail at that time. Court outcomes are tracked by the District Clerk and County Clerk at the Hill County Courthouse in Hillsboro.
